How Traits Work
Traits are passive stat bonuses applied to individual units using the Trait Machine. Each unit can hold exactly one trait at a time. To apply or reroll a trait, navigate to the Trait Machine in your base and spend 5 Trait Shards per reroll attempt. The previous trait is permanently overwritten — there is no way to recover it.
With 20 traits in the pool and wildly different value tiers, knowing which traits to target and which to reroll off is one of the most important optimizations in Defend Ur Base With Anime. The difference between an S-tier trait like Divine Eye and a C-tier trait on the same unit is enormous.
Core rule: Never trait Common, Uncommon, or Rare units. These units will be replaced or merged within 20–30 waves, making any Trait Shard investment a waste. Save all Trait Shards for your best Epic, Legendary, Mythic, or Secret units.

Tip: The best trait to land on any high-rarity DPS unit. Reroll until you get this on your Secret or God units.
Star Bloom
Economy+25 Cash per enemy kill — dramatically accelerates roll budget
Tip: Best economy trait in the game. Place on a unit with wide range and high kill rate for maximum Cash generation per wave.
King's Fortune
Economy/PowerStrong combined economy and power boost
Tip: WARNING: King's Fortune increases Clone Machine cost and cloning time for the unit carrying it. Consider rerolling before cloning.
Void Emperor
OffensiveMassive damage boost + crit chance + crit damage + range + reduced cooldown
Tip: Best pure-DPS trait. Ideal for your highest-damage Secret or Dragonborn unit.
Celestial
OffensiveSame offensive profile as Void Emperor — top-tier multi-stat boost
Tip: Effectively interchangeable with Void Emperor for DPS purposes.
Corrupted

Enemy Drops
Trait Shards drop from enemies during waves. Higher waves drop Shards more frequently.

The Spin Wheel reward can yield Trait Shards. Spin daily for free entries.
Season Battlepass
Trait Shards are rewards at specific Season Battlepass tier unlocks.
